My experience with a Medium boost
If you’re waiting for the Medium gods to reach down and give you a boost, don’t give up. If it can happen to me, it can happen to you as well. As far as the Medium lightning bolt striking me twice, I’m doubtful.
Your chances of getting struck by lightning are 1 in 15,300. But the odds of getting struck by lightning twice in your lifetime are at 1 in 9 million — slim, but still possible.
The frustrating part is that I haven’t a clue why this particular story was chosen over the other works I felt were more deserving. Yes, they too met the keywords and categories asked for.

What was it like to be boosted? Well, it’s a whole lot better than being busted. Within a few days, I made more money off this story than I had made in an entire month collectively on all my stories combined. Until then, my highest month was $30 and my highest-paying individual story was just under $6. Pitiful, yes — that’s why I try to find time to send my stories to other publishing opportunities.
