Good information, Jenny. My book is not self-published but the publisher doesn't do much of anything for promotion. I had good sales when I did readings at our local bookstore. I had no luck with facebook ads or any other advertising. Since the readings the best way I have found to sell books is by publishing my other stories in magazines and online publications. If they like what you've written, they want more and buy the book. I'm talking a few books for each publication. Even here on Medium I have sold about 6 books in 6 months time. I'm pleased with that.
