I adored this poem. What a wise young boy. Innocence carries such wisdom.

The field of science studies the natural world to learn how it works and our relationship to it. However, the question as to “why,” which the boy asked, and the meaning and purpose of things cannot be satisfied by the answers science can provide alone.
