I hate that "B" word, balance.

The sneakers lay 
still, new and neat
My running dream? 
It was a sound defeat.
I swore off sweets 
those treacherous treats
But chocolate whispered,
“Without me, life’s incomplete!”
Aha! Perfection’s not the quest
It’s balance that serves us best
