I prefer Deb to my real name, Debra. I cannot believe how many people take the liberty of calling me Debbie. Years ago, I quit correcting them. Recently a publication on Medium was over editing my work. I was going to let her get away with it until she changed my name to Debbie. I figured if she had the nerve to edit my name, I didn't have to trust her editing.
