I'm glad you wrote about this, Debbie. I am like you. I had my first hot flash when my mother went into the hospital in 2002. I still have hot flashes every two hours all night long. I've given up on doctors. All they do is say, "You shouldn't be having those anymore." I've been offered antidepressants and therapy and I have taken estrogen on and off when doctors would allow. Now, I accept this seems to be my lot in life. :( Maybe I will talk to my doctor about fezolinetant.
