Open Letter to the Man Who Took a Dump on Our Church Balcony

Warning: The following letter is in response to a true event. It’s gross.

Dear Sir,

Greetings. Before I take issue with you, I want to share the heart of our church. Yakima Vineyard Church is located in the core of the city. This location enables us to serve the population we believe has the most need.

During the 20-plus years in this location, we’ve willingly and lovingly fed and clothed anyone who asked. There’ve been times when demand well outweighed available supply, yet without fail, God came through and no one was turned away. Volunteers and goods continued to multiply in line with the need, rather like the Bible story where Jesus feeds 5,000 people with one child’s lunch basket. If you don’t know the story, we’d love to share it with you.

Before I go on, I realize you are not solely responsible for ALL the grievances noted in this letter. Due to the extent of your gross offense to our church, I believe you are best suited to represent those who also demonstrate reprehensible insolence towards God’s house. On the other hand, we have some homeless patrons who display exceptional character, and I do not want to place them in the same box as you.
