Ordinary Guy with an Extraordinary Heart
Flush with blessings
NOTE: I wrote this story about my hubby years ago. He is still the hero fixer guy at our church so I thought I would share it here.
Sandy Palmer is a “man’s man.” The kind that seems like he’s wearing a tool belt, even when he’s not. A father, grandpa, husband, and self-proclaimed “fixer of broken stuff.”
He’s often greeted at church with, “Sandy, one of the toilets is clogged.”
To which he answers:
“Which one?”
A good question since the 110-year-old church holds 22; all working
at the time of this writing, thanks to Sandy. He’s flush (*groan*) with talents that he gifts to the church; building walls, ramps, doors, or finding creative plumbing solutions for systems that no longer exist.
When Hurricane Katrina devasted the lower ninth ward in New Orleans, Sandy, a primary school counselor at the time, joyfully traded his Spring Break R& R plans for gutting and rebuilding mud-filled homes.
